12 Sep GROUP R MINING & EXPLORATION ZAMBIA ACHIEVES 1 MIILION MAN HOURS WITHOUT LTI
Cybercity, Ebene, Mauritius, 12 September 2016 We take great pride in announcing that Group R Mining & Exploration Zambia Ltd achieved 1 Million man hours without Lost Time Injury. This fantastic milestone was achieved upon the completion of last night’s shift at the Synclinorium expansion project, in Zambia, on behalf of Mopani Copper Mines PLC.
“A safety achievement, even one like this one, is never the destination, it is merely another step in the journey” says Nic Claasen Project Manager for Group R.
“We work closely with our client, Mopani Copper Mines PLC and aim to be totally committed to their SafeMining strategy. We however believe that this milestone is not an accolade to management as much as what it is to our entire workforce who dedicate their every action to safety” says Mr. Hein van Staden Chief Operations Officer of Group R.
As with Group R’s previous safety achievements management and the team has again re-iterated their dedication to safety and that they hope to take this achievement to 2 Million man hours.
